NITI President Karen Buller Elected to Universal Service Board

 

FCC Chairman Michael Powell nominated Karen Buller to the Board of Directors of the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC). After being formally elected, Buller was appointed to the High Cost & Low Income Committee.

USAC administers the Universal Service Fund (USF), which provides communities across the country with access to affordable telecommunications services. USAC is a private, not-for profit company directed by the FCC to administer the USF. USAC administers the four universal service programs:

  • High Cost Program
  • Low Income Program
  • Rural Health Care Program
  • Schools and Libraries Program

Frank Gumper, Chairman of the USAC Board of Directors, noted, “We are especially pleased with the appointment of Karen Buller to the USAC Board as she represents a very important constituent base and brings a wealth of telecommunications knowledge to the Board.”
